Job summary

Stagecoach Cambridge is seeking skilled bus/coach technicians to maintain and repair a modern fleet, including hybrids and electrics. You’ll diagnose electrical and mechanical faults, perform servicing and major mechanical work, and support apprentices within a safety‑first depot culture.

You’ll bring NVQ Level 3 PSV/HGV maintenance or equivalent, strong hands-on experience, and comfort with diagnostic tools. A team‑focused, detail‑oriented approach helps keep thousands on the move daily.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 in PSV/HGV Maintenance or equivalent qualification in Engineering.
• Strong hands-on experience with commercial vehicles, automotive, plant or rail environments.
• Confident using diagnostic equipment and fault-finding tools.
• Basic electrical and electronic diagnostic knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Maintaining and repairing fleet to DVSA and Stagecoach safety standards.
• Diagnosing and resolving faults using diagnostic technology.
• Carrying out servicing, inspections, maintenance and roadside repairs.
• Completing major mechanical work including engine overhauls and replacements.
• Sharing knowledge with apprentices and supporting development of future engineers.
