Job summary

ACS Automotive Recruitment Consultancy is recruiting a Workshop Technician on behalf of an established specialist in minibuses, buses and passenger transport vehicles. Location is Southwater, West Sussex, with a salary of £36,000-£39,000 depending on experience and hours of work from Monday to Thursday 8am-5pm; Friday 8am-3pm.

The role involves servicing, repairs, vehicle preparation and quality inspections to ensure customer delivery readiness and high standards.

Qualifications

• Experience in automotive workshops, commercial vehicles, coachbuilding or similar environments.
• Good mechanical aptitude and confidence using workshop tools and equipment.
• Strong attention to detail and pride in quality of work.
• Positive, flexible approach; able to work independently and in a team.
• Full UK driving licence preferred.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out servicing and routine maintenance.
• Completing pre-delivery inspection (PDI) preparation and rectification of defects.
• Undertaking workshop repairs including mechanical, electrical and trim work.
• Installing and replacing vehicle accessories and components.
• Supporting diagnostic and fault-finding activities.
• Preparing vehicles for customer delivery and handover.
• Following manufacturer repair methods and workshop procedures.
• Carrying out quality inspections and liaising with Parts and Aftersales teams.
• Completing job cards and workshop records accurately.
• Assisting with vehicle movements and maintaining a clean, safe workshop.

ACS Automotive Recruitment Consultancy is recruiting a Workshop Technician on behalf of an established specialist in minibuses, buses and passenger transport vehicles.

This varied role will involve servicing, repairs, vehicle preparation and quality inspections, helping ensure vehicles are ready for customer delivery and maintained to a high standard.

We welcome applications from candidates with practical experience in automotive workshops, commercial vehicles, coachbuilding, vehicle conversions or similar workshop environments. Previous minibus, bus or PSV experience would be an advantage, but is not essential.

What you’ll be doing:

• Carrying out scheduled servicing and routine vehicle maintenance.

• Completing pre-delivery inspection (PDI) preparation, identifying defects and carrying out rectification work.

• Undertaking workshop repairs, including minor mechanical, electrical and trim-related work.

• Installing and replacing vehicle accessories, fittings and components.

• Supporting diagnostic and fault-finding activities using workshop equipment and software.

• Preparing vehicles for customer delivery and handover.

• Following manufacturer repair methods and workshop procedures.

• Carrying out quality inspections to ensure completed work meets the required standards.

• Liaising with Parts and Aftersales teams regarding repair requirements and parts usage.

• Completing job cards and workshop records accurately.

• Assisting with vehicle movements around the workshop and yard.

• Maintaining a clean, organised workshop and following health and safety procedures.

What we’re looking for:

• Previous practical workshop experience within the automotive, commercial vehicle, coachbuilding or a similar industry.

• Good mechanical aptitude and confidence using workshop tools and equipment.

• Strong attention to detail and pride in the quality of your work.

• A positive, flexible approach and the ability to work independently and within a team.

• A full UK driving licence is preferred.

Experience in vehicle conversions, coachbuilding, basic electrical installation or repairs would be beneficial, as would experience working on vans, minibuses, buses or specialist vehicles. A forklift licence would also be an advantage.
