Job summary

HP4 Recruitment Ltd is working with a leading vehicle hire and fleet management business to recruit a skilled Vehicle Technician specializing in vans. The role covers maintenance, servicing, and repair of light commercial vehicles across a Bristol site, with clear hours and room for overtime.

You will diagnose faults, service vans to manufacturer standards, complete MOT preparation, and keep accurate service records. A Level 3 NVQ (or equivalent) and a UK driving licence are preferred.

Qualifications

• NVQ/City & Guilds level 3 in Vehicle Maintenance & Repair preferred.
• Proven experience as a Vehicle Technician / Mechanic / LCV Technician.
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills.
• Experience working on vans or commercial vehicles is highly desirable.
• Full UK Driving Licence.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

• Carry out servicing, maintenance, and repairs on vans and LCVs.
• Diagnose faults using diagnostic equipment.
• Complete MOT preparation and inspections.
• Ensure work meets manufacturer guidelines.
• Complete job cards and paperwork.
• Work efficiently to meet workshop targets.

Salary: £37,639 Basic Salary (£43,639 OTE)

Working Hours: Monday to Friday (with optional overtime)

About the Role

Our client is one of the UK's leading vehicle hire and fleet management businesses, and they are currently looking for skilled Vehicle Technicians to join their growing team across multiple sites nationwide.

This role will focus primarily on the maintenance, servicing, and repair of light commercial vehicles (LCVs) and vans, ensuring fleet reliability and safety for a wide customer base.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out servicing, maintenance, and repairs on a range of vans and light commercial vehicles
• Diagnose faults using the latest diagnostic equipment
• Complete MOT preparation and general inspections
• Ensure all work is completed to a high standard in line with manufacturer guidelines
• Accurately complete job cards, service records, and compliance paperwork
• Work efficiently to meet productivity and workshop targets
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organised working environment
