Job summary

Templer HomeBuild is seeking a competent Building Surveyor to join the Building Safety and Technical team in Newton Abbot. You will carry out technical surveys, diagnose defects, prepare specifications and manage works to completion, collaborating with contractors and residents.

The role supports professional development, with APC progression towards MRICS. Benefits include a salary up to £53,956 with car allowance and fuel card, employer pension contribution up to 5%, 31 days holiday, life

Qualifications

  • Building surveying experience, ideally in residential housing and capital projects.
  • Strong knowledge of building pathology, construction, defects and compliance.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out property surveys, inspections, feasibility studies and risk assessments across our housing stock.
  • Diagnose building defects including damp, mould, structural issues and other building pathology concerns.
  • Prepare reports, specifications, schedules of work, drawings and recommendations.
  • Ensure compliance with Building Regulations, Housing Standards, CDM and other relevant legislation.
  • Manage projects from start to finish, including quality, budgets, performance and contractor compliance.
  • Undertake site inspections and project meetings, providing technical advice throughout delivery.
