Job summary

BDS Recruitment are working with a leading national housing association to appoint a Building Surveyor across the Bristol, Gloucester, Newport S Wales and Swindon area. The role is a temporary ongoing opportunity with a salary circa £40-£45 per hour umbrella.

You will manage a portfolio of properties, ensuring homes are safe, compliant and well maintained, with a focus on damp, mould, disrepair and responsive repairs.

Qualifications

• Experience in delivering high-quality inspections, technical reports, and end-to-end case management across occupied and void properties.
• Strong expertise in diagnosing complex building defects and resolving damp, mould, and condensation (DMC) issues.
• Experience delivering responsive repairs, voids, minor planned works, and adaptations in line with HHSRS, Awaab's Law, Building Safety Regulations, and fire safety standards.
• Competent in conducting pre- and post-inspections, quality checks, and ensuring works meet required standards.
• Experienced in contractor management, overseeing performance, quality, cost control, and timely delivery of works.
• Understanding of building pathology, housing legislation, and health and safety compliance requirements.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, working collaboratively with residents, contractors, and housing teams.
