Job summary

Better Staff Recruitment is seeking an experienced Building Surveyor to join a well-established Construction Consultancy working across public and private sector projects in London and surrounding areas.

You will conduct building condition surveys, write specifications, prepare tender documents, and undertake contract administration and Employers' Agent duties for diverse schemes. Experience with AutoCAD is advantageous and MRICS is preferred.

Qualifications

• MRICS status preferred; professional qualification sought.
• Good communication, management and teamwork skills.
• Capable of working on own initiative.
• Driving licence and own vehicle desirable (not essential).

Responsibilities

• Carry out building condition surveys and measured surveys.
• Prepare scheduling, specifications, tender docs and contracts; act as Contracts Admin/Employer's Agent.
• Prepare formal reports, submissions for building regulations and planning apps.
• Assist with aids/adaptations, party wall matters and DDA audits where needed.

Job description

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join an outstanding team where you will play an active role in the delivery of project and professional services to a wide range of public and private sector clients.

Our client is a well-established multi-disciplined Construction Consultancy providing consultancy services across both the public and private sectors and are looking for an experienced Building Surveyor to join the Building Surveying Team.

Working mainly in the public sector, their team has a broad range of exciting projects including education, residential, public and community buildings. They have strong links with Local Authorities, County Councils and Housing Associations.

Good working knowledge of scheduling, specification writing, preparation of tender documentation and contracts and ability to undertake the Contract Administration and Employers Agent duties for a variety of projects in different sectors.

The ideal candidate will be experienced in building condition surveys, measured surveys, defect analysis and preparation of formal reports; submission of building regulations and planning applications.

Experience of aids and adaptations, party wall matters, DDA audits, auto CAD proficient and CDM regulations would be an advantage.

Requirements:

• The candidate will ideally be qualified to MRICS status
• They should have good communication, management and team working skills.
• Capable of working on their own initiative
• Full clean driving licence and use of their own vehicle (not essential)
