Job summary

Cardiff Community Housing Association is seeking a skilled Surveyor to join our Property & Assets team in Cardiff. You will carry out surveys, inspections and oversee maintenance programmes to ensure homes are safe, well-maintained and offer good value for money for our customers.

You’ll work closely with tenants, contractors and colleagues to deliver high-quality solutions, manage costs, and support damp & mould cases while upholding our values of Brave, Caring, Genuine, Honest and Respectful.

Qualifications

• Experience surveying social housing repairs and condition assessments.
• Strong knowledge of health and safety regulations in housing.
• Ability to manage multiple contractors and programmes effectively.

Job description

We’re looking for a skilled and customer-focused Surveyor to join our Property & Assets team. You’ll play a key role in ensuring our homes are safe, well-maintained and provide good value for money for our customers.

You’ll carry out surveys and inspections, oversee contractors and planned maintenance programmes, and support the management of reactive repairs and Damp & Mould cases. You’ll help ensure work is delivered to a high standard, on time, safely and in line with relevant legislation and CCHA’s policies.

Working closely with colleagues, contractors, tenants and other partners, you’ll provide practical solutions, manage work and costs effectively, and help us continually improve the service we provide.

This is a varied role where your technical knowledge, problem-solving skills and commitment to excellent customer service will make a real difference to our customers and communities.

About You

You’re a confident and experienced surveyor with a strong understanding of property maintenance, health and safety and the social housing sector. You’ll be organised, practical and able to manage a varied workload, from inspections and contractor management to planned improvement projects and Damp & Mould cases.

You’ll have excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with a genuine commitment to providing a high-quality service to our customers. You’ll be comfortable working collaboratively with colleagues, contractors and tenants, while having the confidence to challenge poor standards and identify opportunities for improvement.
