Job summary

JLR is seeking a Building Services Technician in Solihull to ensure the Logistics Operations Centre runs safely, efficiently and reliably. You’ll maintain critical infrastructure and work with an experienced maintenance team on advanced facilities and equipment.

You will join a skilled team delivering high standards, with the chance to develop your skills while contributing to modern luxury manufacturing and world-class facilities.

Qualifications

• Time-served apprenticeship (NVQ Level 3) in electrical/engineering or facilities maintenance.
• Experience in facilities/building management or industrial maintenance environments.
• Experience with fault diagnosis, planned and corrective maintenance.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical/mechanical schematics.

Responsibilities

• Perform planned preventive and corrective maintenance across building services and facility systems.
• Diagnose and rectify faults on essential plant and equipment (electrical, gas, water, BMS).
• Respond to breakdowns quickly, maintaining safety and quality standards.
• Support lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Collaborate with colleagues to maintain a safe, efficient working environment.

As a Building Services Engineer at JLR, you’ll help keep our Logistics Operations Centre running safely, efficiently and reliably. Working with advanced facilities and equipment, you’ll play a vital role in supporting production while developing your skills alongside a highly experienced maintenance team.

• Performing planned preventive and corrective maintenance activities across building services and facility systems

What You’ll Need

Along with your ambition to achieve the exceptional, there are several skills and experiences that you’ll need to help you succeed here, including:

• Holding a recognised time-served apprenticeship with NVQ Level 3, or equivalent qualification, in an electrical, engineering or facilities maintenance discipline
• Demonstrating experience within facilities maintenance, building management or industrial maintenance environments
• Applying expertise in fault diagnosis, planned maintenance and corrective maintenance activities
• Reading and interpreting electrical and mechanical schematics with confidence
• Bringing experience in areas such as electrical fault finding, welding, plumbing, hydraulics, pneumatics, lifting equipment or cranes would be advantageous
