Job summary

Energy Jobline ZR requires a Senior Building Services Engineer to support HS2 across nine reinforced-concrete buildings, tunnels, and pumping stations in Birmingham. The role spans HV/LV power, ventilation, BMS/SCADA, fire, lighting, public health and lifts, with strong emphasis on design review and interface coordination.

Job DescriptionSENIOR BUILDING SERVICES ENGINEER HS2 | Complex Infrastructure Buildings We are recruiting a Senior Building Services Engineer to support the delivery of a long-term programme of routewide assets across HS2. The project covers nine reinforced-concrete buildings, including tunnel shafts, portal buildings and pumping stations. The technical scope includes HV/LV power, ventilation, smoke control, BMS/SCADA, communications, fire systems, lighting, public health, lifts and architectural fit-out.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Coordinate multidisciplinary building-services packages
• Review mechanical and electrical designs and contractor submissions
• Manage interfaces between services, structures and architectural elements
• Support procurement and technical approvals
• Provide engineering input during site installation
• Respond to technical queries and proposed design changes
• Identify buildability and coordination risks
• Monitor quality and compliance
• Support testing, commissioning and integrated systems activities
• Liaise with subcontractors, designers and client representatives
• Assist with handover planning and completion documentation

We are looking for candidates with:

• Considerable building-services or MEP engineering experience

• Understanding of testing, commissioning and quality assurance
• Experience with a main contractor, consultant or MEP specialist
