Role Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Building Services Engineer to join our facilities team in Manchester. In this varied role, you will assist with the maintenance of the building, ground equipment, and building schedules. You’ll need solid mechanical and DIY skills, and the ability to work independently on small projects with minimal supervision.

In this role you will be working as part of a Facilities team assisting in the maintenance of the building. The role will be varied so we are looking for good all-round mechanical and DIY skills, to assist our team with the day to day duties, maintaining ground equipment and building schedules.

You will also assist with managing and escorting contractors on site, and will be expected to work on your own initiative on small projects/works with minimum supervision. This is a busy role so the ability to communicate and work as part of a team is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and assist contractors on-site.
• Respond to breakdowns and reactive calls.
• Obtain quotes for third-party work.
• Collaborate with the Motor Transport Engineer and Electrician on ground equipment and building maintenance.
• Assist with office moves and relocations.
• Be available for on-call duties outside of regular hours.
• Perform small to medium jobs such as painting, basic plumbing, and basic joinery.
• Conduct Pat Testing on equipment.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Able to work at height safely.
• Experience in fault finding, detection, rectification, and installation across multiple skills.
• Electrical bias is advantageous.
• Strong all-around DIY skills.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
• Self-starter with the ability to work independently.
• Full, clean UK driver’s license.
• IPAF license is desirable, but not essential.

Additional Requirements:

• Must obtain airside passes for various airports.
• Completion of full security vetting (SC) is required.
