Cotswold District Council in Gloucester is seeking a highly organized administrator to support the Building Control team and take ownership of the Building Safety Levy administration.
You will issue notices and invoices, monitor compliance, maintain statutory records, handle enquiries from applicants and the public, and assist with Building Regulations applications, fee calculations, and performance reporting.

In this varied role, you'll oversee the day-to-day administration of the Building Safety Levy, including issuing notices and invoices, monitoring compliance, maintaining accurate records and responding to enquiries from applicants, agents, colleagues and members of the public. You'll also support the wider Building Control service by processing Building Regulations applications, calculating fees, maintaining statutory records, preparing performance data and reports, and providing routine technical advice. From liaising with customers to carrying out occasional site visits and supporting service improvements, you'll be an integral part of a professional and collaborative team.
We're looking for someone with strong organisational and time management skills, excellent written and verbal communication, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy. You'll have experience in an administrative role, be confident using Microsoft and Google applications, and have a good understanding of financial processes such as invoicing and payment tracking. Experience within local government or a public sector environment, and knowledge of Building Control or related regulatory processes, would be an advantage but isn't essential.
