Job summary

Pick Everard is seeking an Associate Director – Building Safety Act Lead to establish and grow our Building Safety discipline. You will lead the London BSA team, drive commercial performance and quality delivery across Architecture, Engineering, Fire Safety and CDM teams.

You will set standards, advance compliance, mentor a high-performing team, and help expand our flagship projects while staying ahead of regulatory changes. This is a strategic, high-profile leadership role.

Qualifications

• Degree-level qualification (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline.
• Chartered membership or registration with a professional body (RIBA/ARB/CABE/CIBSE/IFE).
• Significant experience in construction health and safety or building safety, including higher-risk buildings.
• Strong knowledge of Building Safety Act 2022, Building Regulations and dutyholder competence requirements.
• Experience managing fire safety considerations within design and construction.

Responsibilities

• Leading Building Safety Act offering as the practice-wide authority on Principal Designer appointments and dutyholder competence.
• Drive commercial performance: revenue, utilisation, pipeline and order book management.
• Establish and maintain standards, policies and best-practice guidance across the practice.
• Shape competence and training, ensuring dutyholder compliance.
• Monitor regulatory developments and advise senior leadership on risks and impacts.
• Lead resource planning and delivery across the discipline.
