Job summary

Perfect Recruitment Ltd. seeks a Building Physics Engineer to join an established energy and sustainability consultancy in the Blackburn area. The role focuses on building energy modelling, dynamic thermal simulation and regulatory compliance across residential and commercial projects.

You will produce CIBSE TM59/52 overheating assessments, TM54 energy assessments and BRUKL documentation, while delivering robust technical reports and client-ready outputs.

Qualifications

• Requires degree in Building Physics or related engineering discipline.
• Minimum 2 years UK consultancy experience in building physics or related field.
• Hands-on experience with IES VE or DesignBuilder for energy modelling.

Responsibilities

• Develop and run dynamic thermal simulations using IES VE or DesignBuilder.
• Produce CIBSE TM59/TM52 overheating assessments with reports.
• Undertake TM54 operational energy assessments where applicable.
• Carry out Part L compliance modelling using SBEM and dynamic simulations.
• Prepare BRUKL reports and Building Regulations documentation.
• Analyse modelling outputs and provide energy performance insights.
• Prepare technical reports and energy strategies for planning submissions.
• Provide technical advice to clients and design teams.
• Manage workloads, deliverables and deadlines independently.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Building Regulations and CIBSE guidance.
