The role is hands-on and suits someone expanding experience in building physics, dynamic modelling, and sustainable design while mentoring junior engineers.

Qualifications

  • Experience in building physics, energy modelling, or building performance analysis in a consultancy.
  • Proficiency with IES-VE (or equivalent) including simulation, calibration, and QA.
  • Strong understanding of passive design and low‑carbon buildings.
  • Ability to present technical information clearly to teams.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to building physics workstreams on projects (thermal, energy, daylight, overheating, ventilation, comfort).
  • Develop, review, and optimise energy strategies and low-carbon design solutions.
  • Assess façade performance, solar control, and fabric optimisation.
  • Ensure compliance with UK regulations (Part L, TM52/TM59, EPC) and credits (BREEAM/WELL/LEED).
  • Produce technical reports and communicate findings to internal teams and clients.
