Job summary

Smart Managed Solutions is seeking a Building Performance Manager to evaluate, interpret and optimise energy usage across our portfolio. You will analyse energy, mechanical and data trends to identify opportunities for efficiency improvements, cost savings and sustainability initiatives, working with stakeholders to implement strategies aligned with environmental goals.

Qualifications

  • Degree or equivalent in Energy/Environmental Management, Building Services Engineering or related field.
  • Minimum 2 years of related experience in energy management, sustainability, or similar.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and analyse data to evaluate assets performance and provide recommendations to enhance maintenance procedures and energy efficiency.
  • Perform data analysis and assess opportunities to quantify efficiency improvements across the portfolio.
  • Monitor optimisation results on an ongoing basis.
  • Lead the continuous implementation of energy efficiency measures throughout the portfolio.
  • Report on energy consumption analysis, optimisation outcomes, and maintenance planning with liaison to Operational Maintenance and Professional Services teams.
  • Investigate energy-related queries on site with the operations team.
  • Undertake energy audits across the portfolio to deploy data-led analytics solutions.
  • Troubleshoot problems and advise operational and client teams on actions to take.
  • Provide technical and operational support to metering and monitoring system strategy.
  • Devise procedures for data capture and analysis across technical aspects.

Role Purpose:

As a Building Performance Manager, you will play a crucial role in evaluating, interpreting, and optimising energy usage and systems performance within our portfolio. You will analyse different sets of data (energy, mechanical, etc.), trends, and patterns to identify opportunities for efficiency improvements, cost savings, and sustainability initiatives. This role involves working with various stakeholders to implement strategies that align with environmental goals and regulatory requirements.

Duties:
  • Monitor and analyse information from data systems to evaluate assets performance and provide recommendations to enhance maintenance procedures and energy efficiency (new technologies, upgrades etc.).
  • Perform data analysis and performance assessments to assist the department in quantifying efficiency opportunities on our portfolio.
  • Monitoring optimisation results on an on-going basis.
  • Manage continuous implementation of energy efficiency measures throughout the portfolio.
  • Report on energy consumption analysis, optimisations outcomes, and maintenance planning ensuring liaison with Operational Maintenance team and Professional Services teams to support our portfolio.
  • Manage energy related queries and investigate on site, including BMS interventions in conjunction with the operational team.
  • Undertake energy audit/survey across our portfolio to initiate the deployment of data-led & analytics solutions.
  • Troubleshoot problems and advise operational and client stakeholder teams on advisory courses of action.
  • Technical and operational support to utility metering and monitoring system strategy.
  • Devise and secure procedures for data capture and analysis with attention to all technical aspects.
Person Specification:
  • Suitably qualified degree or equivalent in an appropriate discipline (i.e., Energy/Environmental Management, Building Services Engineering) and/or equivalent qualification by experience, for example engineering (e.g., building services, mechanical engineering, energy engineering).
  • Minimum 2 years of related experience in energy management, sustainability, or related field.
