Job summary

• Experience managing residential buildings, estates or complex property assets.
• Strong technical knowledge of building systems and maintenance.

• Experience of contractor management and procurement.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience working within housing, residential property, facilities management, build-to-rent or property management environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead the operational management of the building and its communal areas.
• Ensure compliance with all statutory health and safety requirements.
• Oversee fire, structural and building safety obligations.
• Manage planned and reactive maintenance programmes.
• Oversee service contracts and contractor performance.
• Manage compliance relating to lifts, fire systems, water hygiene and other key risk areas.
• Support the organisation's responsibilities under the Building Safety Act and associated legislation.
• Undertake regular inspections and audits of the building.
• Manage building budgets and service contracts.
• Work closely with residents to resolve building-related issues and communicate planned works.
• Maintain accurate compliance and safety records.

Building Manager £64,353 (in probation) rising to £67,470 Peterborough City Centre Full time (Mon - Fri 0900-#####) Permanent

We're looking for an experienced and technically minded Building Manager to play a pivotal role in the management of Indigo, our flagship high-rise residential development. This is a unique opportunity to make a significant impact, ensuring the building remains safe, compliant and exceptionally maintained. As the lead for all building-related matters, you'll oversee health and safety, building compliance, maintenance and contractor management, helping to protect this important asset and ensure it operates to the highest standards. No two days will be the same. You'll oversee critical building systems, manage planned and reactive maintenance programmes, coordinate specialist contractors and ensure compliance with a wide range of statutory obligations. Working collaboratively with colleagues and external partners, you'll identify opportunities for
continuous improvement and drive excellence across every aspect of the building's operation.

About you

You’ll be a confident and knowledgeable property professional with experience managing complex residential buildings and delivering high standards of compliance and customer service. You'll bring :

• Strong technical knowledge of building systems and maintenance.
• Sound understanding of health, safety and compliance requirements.
• Experience of contractor management and procurement.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience working within housing, residential property, facilities management, build-to-rent or property management environments.

Desirable

• NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent.
• Experience working within a modern high-rise residential building environment.
• IOSH qualification.
• IWFM, CIOB or RICS membership.
• Fire safety or building safety qualification.
