Job summary

Macdonald & Company is seeking an experienced Building Manager to own the day-to-day operation of a prominent commercial property in central Manchester.

The role is hands-on, ensuring safety, compliance, and a welcoming environment for occupiers, visitors and stakeholders; you will manage contractors, budgets and the on-site team, driving ESG initiatives.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a Building Manager or similar role.
• IOSH Managing Safely or NEBOSH General Certificate.
• Strong health, safety and compliance knowledge.

Responsibilities

Job description

We are looking for an experienced Building Manager to take ownership of the day-to-day operation of a prominent commercial property in central Manchester.

This is a highly visible, hands-on role responsible for ensuring the building is safe, compliant, well maintained and welcoming, while delivering an excellent experience for occupiers, visitors and stakeholders.

Working closely with the wider property and facilities management team, you will oversee contractors and service partners, manage compliance and risk, control service charge expenditure, coordinate maintenance and improvement projects, and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and ESG performance.

You will also lead and develop the on-site team, build strong occupier relationships and play an important role in shaping the future of the property.
