Job summary

Liverpool City Council is seeking a Building Control Area Team Leader to oversee on-site supervision of major construction schemes, lead a multidisciplinary team of inspectors and engineers, and deputise for the Head of Building Control when needed.

The role supports policy shaping and market expansion while delivering safe, high-quality development across Liverpool. A highly qualified professional with relevant credentials is required, with a relocation option for the region.

Qualifications

• Qualified professional with RICS, CABE, CIOB or MIFE credentials
• LABC/CIOB Level 6 or equivalent
• Demonstrable competency to Specialist Level including Class 3H

Responsibilities

• Lead on-site supervision of major construction schemes across the city
• Manage and develop a multidisciplinary team of Registered Building Inspectors, trainees and structural engineers
• Deputise for the Head of Building Control as required
• Support business growth through competitive fee proposals and market expansion
• Shape policy and enforce the Safety at Sports Grounds Act across all city stadiums
