Job summary

Burnley Borough Council is seeking a Senior Building Control Surveyor to lead a defined area within Burnley and Padiham. This role covers the full range of projects under class 2a-2f and dangerous buildings, with responsibilities in enforcement under the Building Act sections 77 and 78.

• Assist with training and supervision of Trainee RBI with Senior Surveyors and the Class 3G-H Registered Building Inspector.
• Support the Building Control Team in Burnley and Padiham with enforcement and professional development.

Job description

An opportunity has arisen to join Burnley Council's Building Control Service as a Senior Building Control Surveyor. You will carry out an important function within the Council's well established Building Control Team running a defined area within the Borough of Burnley and Padiham. You will be expected to be capable of dealing with the full range of projects within class 2a-2f, dangerous buildings under section 77, 78 of the Building Act and associated enforcement activities. You should also be willing and able to assist with the training and supervision of our Trainee RBI in conjunction with our other Senior Surveyor and the Class 3G-H Registered Building Inspector.
