This is a rare opportunity to lead a well-established Building Control service across the borough of Maidstone. Reporting to the Deputy Chief Executive and Director of Place, you will provide operational and strategic leadership to a multidisciplinary team, oversee compliance with Building Safety Regulator requirements, drive service improvement and digital transformation, and maximise opportunities for commercial growth and increasing market share.

This is a primarily office-based role, currently at Gail House in Maidstone, whilst Maidstone House undergoes refurbishment.
This is a full-time position, working 37 hours per week, on a permanent contract.

You will be a confident and experienced manager with a degree-level qualification in a relevant subject, and a recognised management qualification. You will bring strong management experience, with a proven ability to lead change and transformation programmes, and excellent budget management and negotiation skills.
Ideally, you will hold professional membership with RICS, CABE and/or a recognised management body, e.g. CMI. You will also have substantial knowledge of Building Regulations, construction law and wider building surveying or construction-related services, along with experience of supporting commercial activities, marketing and business development. A full UK driving licence is required.
