Job description

About the Role

Maidstone Borough Council is an ambitious authority at the heart of Kent, committed to creating a thriving borough where communities, businesses and people can prosper. As we continue to deliver sustainable growth, support high-quality development and shape the future of local government, we are seeking an exceptional leader to become our next Building Control Manager.

This is a rare opportunity to lead a well-established Building Control service across the borough of Maidstone. While we would welcome applications from experienced and professionally qualified Building Control Managers, we are also interested in hearing from outstanding leaders from related public sector, regulatory, surveying, property, or construction disciplines who can demonstrate the vision, management capability and commercial awareness needed to lead a modern regulatory service.

You will be an inspiring people manager with a track record of delivering excellent customer service and developing high-performing teams. In return, we offer the chance to shape a key frontline service, influence the future of the profession, support local government reorganisation across Kent, and make a lasting contribution to the growth and success of Maidstone. This is a primarily office-based role, currently at Gail House in Maidstone, whilst Maidstone House undergoes refurbishment.

This is a full-time position working 37 hours per week on a permanent contract.
