Job summary

Isle of Wight Council is seeking a Senior Administrator for the Building Control tech support team in Newport. This full-time, Grade 8 role reports to the Building Control Manager and leads a team of technical support officers to ensure efficient, accurate operations in line with the Building Safety Act.

Qualifications

• Experience leading a team of technical staff.
• Understanding of regulatory requirements in Building Control or Building Safety Act.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a team of technical support officers.
• Ensure Building Control service operates efficiently, accurately, and in compliance with the Building Safety Act.
• Manage day-to-day Building Control support activities and identify where processes may be reviewed to improve efficiency.
• Oversee and maintain the Building Control Service Quality Management System and monitor training and CPD.
• Develop systems to capture data for statutory KPI returns to the Building Safety Regulator.
• Promote the Building Control Service to maintain long-term competitiveness.
