Job Title: Building & Construction Project Leader

Location: Portsmouth, UK

Contract - 12+ months

Hourly Rate: £40/hour

About the Role:

• IO Associates is looking for an experienced Building & Construction Project Leader to oversee and lead capital expenditure (CAPEX) projects within our client's construction and engineering team.
• In this role, you will take ownership of projects from inception to completion, ensuring that all building services and engineering works are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage multi-disciplinary project teams to deliver CAPEX projects, ensuring compliance with internal requirements and Airbus procedures.
• Oversee the detailed design of building services for major plant replacement and refurbishment projects.
• Monitor and validate progress on-site, ensuring adherence to technical specifications and health & safety standards.
• Develop, update, and manage project delivery plans, identifying and mitigating risks and opportunities.
• Liaise with clients, architects, and other design team members to ensure project goals are met.

Skills & Qualifications:

• Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage multi-functional project teams (including external contractors, engineers, architects, etc.).
• Previous experience working in a consultancy environment would be a distinct advantage.
• Proficiency in IT tools (e.g., SharePoint, MS Project, G Suite) and experience producing technical reports, cost reports, and project documentation.
• Experience with industry-standard design and calculation software.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with clients and project stakeholders.
• Professional membership (CIBSE, IMechE, IET) is desirable.
