Job summary

Prospero Teaching in St Albans is seeking a BSL Teaching Assistant to support deaf and hearing-impaired pupils during school hours. You will use British Sign Language to assist communication in lessons and around the school, promoting inclusion.

The role includes one-to-one or small-group support, helping pupils understand instructions, access activities and communicate with staff and classmates. BSL Level 2 or higher is required, with experience in education or related settings preferred.

Qualifications

• BSL Level 2 qualification or above.

• Experience supporting deaf or hearing-impaired people, ideally with children.
