Pertemps Education Network is seeking a dedicated BSL Teaching Assistant to support deaf or hearing-impaired pupils in a Lambeth primary school. The role requires BSL Level 1 or higher and a passion for inclusive education across the curriculum.

You will provide 1:1 or small group support, adapt materials, and use sign language and visuals to enhance engagement. Collaboration with teachers and specialists is essential to promote well-being and progress.

Qualifications

• Experience working with deaf or hearing-impaired children or young people in an educational setting.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to support pupils.
• Ability to adapt teaching materials and activities for diverse needs.
• Willingness to work collaboratively with teachers, specialists, and families.

Responsabilités

• Provide 1:1 or small group support to pupils who use BSL as their primary means of communication.
• Assist teachers in adapting lessons and learning materials to meet individual needs.
• Use sign language and visual aids to help pupils engage with classroom activities and social interaction.
• Work collaboratively with teachers, speech and language therapists, and specialist staff to promote inclusion and progress.
