Job summary

TeacherActive is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a specialist school in Haringey, North London, for an immediate start. You will support pupils with hearing impairments and SEND, using BSL to facilitate communication and promote inclusion.

The role is full-time and long-term, with a day rate of £95-£120 depending on experience and qualifications. You will work closely with teachers and support staff to help pupils reach their potential.

Qualifications

• British Sign Language (BSL) Level 2 qualification is essential.
• Experience supporting children or young people with SEND.
• Experience supporting pupils with hearing impairments is desirable.
• Ability to adapt learning activities to meet individual pupil needs.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Patient, caring and understanding approach.
• Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff.
• Safeguarding and pupil wellbeing knowledge.
• Enhanced DBS via Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
• Right to work in the UK.

Responsibilities
