Job summary

Southampton City Council is seeking a permanent, full-time BSL Interpreter & Access Coordinator to join our Specialist Teacher Advisory Service. You will provide a BSL interpretation service within the council and support deaf young people’s independence across educational settings.

The role requires extensive experience with the Deaf community, strong BSL credentials (level 6) or willingness to complete, and excellent organisational and communication skills along with a commitment to

Qualifications

• Experience working within the Deaf community and with BSL users.
• Experience working with children and young people.
• Level 6 BSL qualification or registered interpreter status, or willingness to complete.
• Experience interpreting for Deaf people.
• Strong organisational and communication skills.
• Commitment to inclusion and safeguarding.
