Job summary

Southampton City Council is hiring a permanent, full-time BSL Interpreter & Access Coordinator for the Specialist Teacher Advisory Service to provide BSL interpretation within the council and collaborate with professionals and educational settings to support Deaf and hard of hearing children and young people.

This role requires a Level 6 BSL qualification and interpreter registration, plus strong organisational and communication skills and a commitment to inclusion and safeguarding.

Qualifications

• Experience with Deaf community and BSL users.
• Registration as BSL Interpreter or willingness to complete Level 6.
• Experience interpreting for Deaf people and engaging with families.
• Strong organisational and communication abilities.
