Job summary

Morgan Hunt UK Limited is seeking a Communication Support Worker to provide BSL-based support to Deaf and hard-of-hearing individuals in Brighton. This full-time, temporary role requires compassionate, reliable support with strong communication skills and a commitment to inclusion.

You will work with individuals, families, and professionals to ensure understanding and access to education, healthcare, and community services, while maintaining confidentiality and safeguarding.

Qualifications

• Experience using British Sign Language in a professional or support environment.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Patient, empathetic, and respectful of individual communication preferences.
• Able to work confidently with Deaf and hard-of-hearing individuals.

Responsibilities

• Provide communication support using BSL in daily activities.
• Support individuals to express their needs, choices, views and preferences.
• Facilitate effective communication between service users and staff, professionals, families and others.
• Assist individuals in accessing education, healthcare, appointments, activities and community services.
• Build positive, respectful, and trusting relationships with the people you support.
• Promote independence, dignity, inclusion, and equality at all times.
• Maintain accurate and confidential records in line with policies.
• Work as part of a multidisciplinary team to ensure person-centred support.
• Follow safeguarding, health and safety, confidentiality, and equality policies.
