Job summary

Allestree Woodlands School is seeking a Communications Support Worker to assist the Lead Teacher in the Enhanced Resource Facility for deaf and hard of hearing students. You will help with communication, language support, and curriculum tasks within a secondary school setting.

The role requires sensitivity to students’ needs, strong liaison with staff, and the ability to foster independence while knowing when to provide support.

Qualifications

• Minimum Level 2 BSL qualification required.
• Knowledge of working with deaf and hard of hearing students in a school setting is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Lead Teacher of the Enhanced Resource Facility in supporting deaf and hard of hearing students.
• Support students in communication, the curriculum and with language.
• Liaise with staff to provide appropriate in-class support and promote student independence.
