Job summary

Allestree Woodlands School is seeking a Communications Support Worker to assist the Lead Teacher of the Enhanced Resource Facility in supporting deaf and hard of hearing students. The role focuses on communication, curriculum and language support in a secondary school setting.

The ideal candidate will have Level 2 BSL (preferably Level 3 or above) and experience working with deaf and hard of hearing students.

Qualifications

• Minimum Level 2 BSL qualification, preferably Level 3 or above.
• Experience supporting deaf and hard of hearing students in a school setting is beneficial.
• Ability to establish good working relationships with students and staff.

Responsibilities

• Support the Lead Teacher of the Enhanced Resource Facility for deaf and hard of hearing students.
• Assist with communication, curriculum delivery and language development.
• Liaise with staff and provide in-class support while promoting student independence.
