Job summary

Bath Spa University in Bath is seeking a technically skilled specialist to join the Learning Innovation & Skills Unit. You will deliver hands-on demonstrations in location sound, studio audio, Pro Tools and post‑production, and provide tech support for live productions and assessments.

You'll work with professional equipment in a refurbished broadcast studio environment, collaborate with students and staff, and help develop practical experience using current production workflows across TV, sound

Qualifications

• Strong working knowledge of Pro Tools, including editing, mixing and post-production workflows.
• Practical experience using Sound Devices or equivalent professional field recorders, including timecode and multi-track recording.
• Strong location sound skills: boom operation, radio mics and lavalier concealment.
• Experience in live sound/broadcast audio, including mics, mixing and routing.
• Teaching, demonstration or technical support experience in higher education or creative industries.
• Excellent communication, student-focused approach and willingness to develop across TV and live production.
• Experience with broadcast audio consoles, Dante/networked audio and IFB systems.
• Knowledge of immersive/object-based audio and modern broadcast workflows.
• Wider experience in multi-camera TV, live events or OB production.

Responsibilities

• Deliver hands-on demonstrations in location sound, studio audio, Pro Tools and post-production.
• Provide technical support for live productions, practical sessions and assessments.
• Work with professional equipment (Sound Devices recorders, mics, timecode, 7.1.4 suites).
• Collaborate with students, academic staff and the technical team.
• Contribute to innovation culture and help students gain practical experience.
