Job summary

Bath Spa University is seeking a Technical Demonstrator in TV & Film to deliver hands-on demonstrations in location sound, studio audio, Pro Tools and audio post-production. You will support live productions and practical sessions, using Sound Devices recorders, 7.1.4 suites and timecode systems.

You will collaborate with students, academic staff and the technical team, helping develop skills across TV, multi-camera and live production while expanding your own technical expertise in a dynamic

Qualifications

• Strong experience with Pro Tools editing, mixing and post-production workflows.
• Practical experience using field recorders and timecode workflows.
• Solid location sound skills, including boom and lavalier mics.
• Experience in live sound or broadcast audio, including microphones and mixing.
• Teaching or technical support experience in higher education or creative industries.
• Excellent communication and student-focused approach.
• Familiarity with professional broadcast audio consoles and intercom/IFB systems.
• Knowledge of immersive/object-based audio and modern broadcast audio workflows.
• Experience with multi-camera TV or outside broadcasts.
• Active industry networks in audio/broadcast or live production.

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging demonstrations in location sound, studio audio, Pro Tools and audio post-production.
• Provide technical support for live productions, practical sessions and assessments.
• Operate professional equipment including Sound Devices recorders and 7.1.4 audio suites.
