We’re working with a warm, inclusive school in Sunderland that supports pupils with hearing impairments. They’re looking for a confident BSL communicator who can help students feel seen, understood, and supported every step of the way.
You don’t need to be a qualified teacher. You don’t even need a TA qualification (though it’s a bonus). What matters is your ability to connect and your experience using BSL to support communication and learning.
What you’ll be doing:
Providing 1:1 and small group BSL support in class
Helping pupils access learning and build confidence
Working closely with teachers and the SENCO
Supporting social interaction and emotional wellbeing
Who we’re looking for:
Someone with BSL Level 2 or higher
Previous experience supporting children or young people (formal or informal)
Calm, friendly, and great at building trust
A real team player who wants to make a difference

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
