Job summary

WSP is seeking a talented Project Manager to join the Roads team in Bristol. You will lead highways projects from planning through to construction, ensuring quality and efficiency while guiding junior staff.

The role involves coordinating with UK engineers and remote teams in India to deliver diverse schemes for public and private clients across the UK. You will demonstrate strong project management credentials, NEC contracting experience, and the ability to manage multiple accounts with

Qualifications

• Professional qualification in project management and/or an engineering discipline.
• Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Maths (STEM) or similar disciplines.
• Undertaken NEC accreditation and attained the necessary technical and practical skills to lead and administer NEC Contracts.
• Membership of professional institutions such as: APM, PMI, MRICS or MICE.
• A background in highway/linear infrastructure projects would be beneficial, but focus is on developing project management career with agility and transferability.
• Demonstrate competence in stakeholder management, risk, planning/scheduling, and commercial management.
• Proficiency in use of project management tools and software.
• Experience of complying with Designers Duties under CDM regulations.

Responsibilities

• Manage the delivery of highways projects for public and private sector clients across the UK through planning, design and construction stages.
• Ensure compliance with quality management systems and drive efficiencies throughout project execution.
• Mentor and upskill junior staff, supporting their professional development.
• Contribute to the development of the team’s internal knowledge base.
• Work with limited supervision to plan, execute, monitor and control projects and manage project change.
• Undertake contract management and administration under framework and standalone contracts.
• Engage with local authorities, national infrastructure agencies and private developers as clients.
• Coordinate with Engineers in the UK and remote resources in India to deliver projects.
• Handle multiple projects/accounts simultaneously and collaborate with clients and stakeholders.
