Job summary

Manpower (United Kingdom) is recruiting a dedicated School Caretaker in Brigend to manage site opening and closing, carry out routine maintenance and minor repairs, and ensure the school grounds are tidy and safe.

The role requires health and safety awareness, ability to work independently, and flexibility to support the school’s needs. This temporary position offers weekly PAYE payments and an enhanced DBS check funded by Manpower, with an immediate start date.

Qualifications

• Previous caretaking, facilities, maintenance or site management experience.
• Able to carry out basic repairs and maintenance tasks.
• Good understanding of health and safety responsibilities.
• Organised, reliable and able to work independently.
• Flexible to support the needs of the school.

Responsibilities

• Opening and closing the school site
• Carrying out routine maintenance and minor repairs
• Ensuring the school grounds are clean, tidy and well-maintained
• Conducting health and safety checks such as legionella, fire alarm testing etc
• Monitoring contractors whilst on site
• Setting up rooms for meetings, events and school activities
• Reporting maintenance issues and larger repairs
