Job summary

COWI A/S in the United Kingdom is seeking a Graduate Engineer to join our Bridge Structures team. You will work on prestigious UK bridge and infrastructure programmes and receive a tailored development plan toward Chartership, supported by experienced engineers.

You will produce designs, perform analyses, and participate in site visits while developing your professional skills within a collaborative, multi-disciplinary environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering, or related discipline, expected this summer.
• Interest in becoming Chartered Engineer, with motivation to achieve it.
• Practical experience in engineering via year in industry, summer placements, or a dissertation/final year project.
• Familiarity with UK design standards and Eurocodes relevant to structural/bridge engineering.
• Understanding of CDM Regulations and designers' duties.
• Active involvement in structural engineering and bridge design with focus on skill development.
• Ability to work effectively in diverse, multi-disciplinary project teams.

Responsibilities

• Produce structural designs, assessments, and evaluations for bridges from concept to detailed design.
• Prepare calculations, technical reports, and specifications per codes and standards.
• Review calculations and drawings produced by others to ensure accuracy.
• Interpret site data and survey results, perform structural analysis, and develop calculation methods.
• Plan workloads with project manager and track progress against budget and programme.
• Maintain high quality through diligent self-checks and attention to detail.
• Attend site visits and represent the team in client meetings and design reviews.
