Job summary

Calderdale Council is seeking an Engineering Team Manager to provide high level expert advice and management to the Highways Design and Regulation (Structures) team. You will lead, direct and manage the team to ensure the council's bridges, retaining structures and other adopted assets are operated, maintained and planned for the future.

You will communicate with stakeholders at multiple levels, ensure compliance with Well-managed Highway Infrastructure: A Code of Practice (2016), and bring

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent experience.
• Extensive knowledge of highway structural engineering.
• Experience managing day-to-day network operations.
• Familiar with budget monitoring and collaborative working.

Responsibilities

• Lead, direct and manage the Highways Design and Regulation (Structures) team.
• Provide high-level expert advice and management to the Highways team.
• Ensure statutory and corporate objectives are delivered.
• Ensure compliance with Well-managed Highway Infrastructure: A Code of Practice (2016).
• Forward planning of bridges and structural assets.
