Job summary

Matchtech seeks a Bridge Engineer for a permanent role in Chelmsford, Essex. Lead the design and delivery of structure replacement, refurbishment and improvement schemes across Essex, applying Eurocodes, DMRB and MCHW standards.

You will prepare designs, lead projects, monitor programmes, ensure CDM compliance, mentor junior staff, and collaborate with stakeholders to deliver high-quality infrastructure solutions.

Qualifications

• Design experience using Eurocodes and DMRB.
• Knowledge of MCHW and contract specification prep.
• Strong knowledge of highway legislation and safety (CDM).

Responsibilities

• Prepare designs, plans and programmes for highway structures works.
• Provide clear and effective project leadership.
• Assist in the management and monitoring of work programmes and service delivery.
• Plan and deliver work safely in CDM regulations and Health & Safety policies.
• Mentor junior staff and review their work for quality and compliance.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to deliver schemes.
• Coordinate and manage assigned schemes effectively.
• Deliver innovative, high-quality solutions to infrastructure challenges.
