Job summary

SYSTRA in the United Kingdom is seeking a Design Engineer to work on a range of civil and structural design projects, including bridges and transportation schemes. You will contribute to outlining and detailing designs, follow procedures, and coordinate with other disciplines and external engineers to deliver integrated solutions.

Within budgets, programmes and QA, you will report progress to senior engineers and support ongoing professional development, with graduate membership in ICE or

Qualifications

• Experience as a design engineer with deliverables within a work package/project.
• Awareness/experience with bridge calculation software (MIDAS, Super STRESS, Autodesk Structural Bridge Design).
• Degree (BEng/MEng) in Civil or Structural Engineering (or equivalent).
• Graduate membership of recognised professional body (e.g. ICE or IStructE).

Responsibilities

• Prepare outline and detailed design for multi- or single-disciplinary projects.
• Follow and check procedures throughout project delivery.
• Interface with other disciplines and 3rd parties to ensure multi-disciplinary design development.
• Report progress to senior engineers, technical leads and project management.
• Apply safety procedures throughout the design lifecycle.
