Job summary

Morgan Hunt is seeking a Brickwork Technician to join the Construction Department, supporting practical brickwork teaching and maintaining workshops and equipment in a safe, organised environment.

The role requires a Level 2 Brickwork qualification and industry experience, with the ability to guide learners under a lecturer while adhering to COSHH and health and safety standards.

Qualifications

  • Level 2 qualification in Brickwork or equivalent.
  • Relevant industry experience in bricklaying and construction.
  • Good knowledge of current brickwork practices, construction methods, and health and safety requirements.
  • Experience using bricklaying tools, equipment, and associated workshop machinery safely.
  • Good organisational, communication, and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare workshops, tools, equipment, and materials for practical lessons.
  • Support lecturers during practical training sessions, ensuring students work safely and effectively.
  • Maintain brickwork workshops and practical training areas to a high standard, ensuring tools, equipment, and workspaces are clean, organised, and ready for use.
  • Carry out routine maintenance and inspections of workshop equipment and ensure all tools are safe and fit for purpose.
  • Monitor, organise, and replenish stocks of bricks, blocks, mortar materials, consumables, and other workshop resources.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety legislation, COSHH requirements, and college policies.
  • Assist with setting up practical assessments, demonstrations, skills competitions, and college open events.
  • Support learners by providing technical guidance under the direction of the lecturer.
  • Contribute to creating a safe, organised, and engaging learning environment.

Job description

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Brickwork Technician to join our Construction Department. Working alongside our Brickwork Lecturer, you will play a key role in supporting the delivery of high-quality practical teaching and learning for students studying brickwork and related construction programmes.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced brickwork professional who enjoys sharing their knowledge and contributing to the development of the next generation of skilled construction tradespeople.

Key Responsibilities
