Job summary

Wrexham County Borough Council is seeking a dedicated Bricklayer and Roofer to join our Responsive & Planned Repairs Team. The successful candidates will report directly to the Site Agent and will be responsible for emergency repairs, general repairs, and planned maintenance for tenanted properties within the borough.

The role requires experience in managing repair and maintenance projects, a full driving licence, and a commitment to health and safety.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 or City and Guilds in Bricklaying or a related field.
• Proven experience in managing repair and maintenance projects in occupied residential properties.
• Full valid driving licence is essential.

Responsibilities

• Repairs and Maintenance: Carry out day-to-day maintenance, repairs, and refurbishment to council properties as instructed by the site agent or planning team.
• Project Management: Manage and coordinate multiple repair and maintenance projects in tenanted properties, ensuring timely completion.
• Health & Safety Compliance: Ensure all projects comply with health and safety regulations, conducting regular site inspections and implementing safety measures.
• Quality Control: Maintain high standards of workmanship and tenant satisfaction.
• Communication: Liaise with Contract Holders and Site Agent, providing updates on timelines and addressing concerns.
• Resource Management: Plan and allocate materials, equipment and labour; monitor budgets.
• Risk Management: Identify and manage potential risks with effective mitigation strategies.
• Mentoring: Mentor apprentices, trainees, or staff and contribute to development programs.
• Documentation: Complete all electronic paperwork related to housing repairs promptly.
