Job summary

Thirteen Group is seeking a Bricklayer to join the Empty Homes Team on a fixed-term 6-month contract. The role includes a company van, fuel card, tools, and PPE, with planned work by Work Planners to deliver high-standard repairs across the Tees Valley.

The ideal candidate will have bricklaying experience, a valid UK driving licence, and a commitment to health and safety. The role offers an 8.30am–4.30pm pattern (adjusted in winter) with overtime and callout duties.

Responsibilities

• Support the Empty Homes team, with equipment provided (van, fuel card, tools, PPE).
• Carry out repairs to a high standard with right-first-time focus.
• Work mainly in Tees Valley (Hartlepool, Stockton, Middlesbrough) with some travel; set shift pattern.
• Contribute to the TradePlus scheme to gain diverse skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Support our Empty Homes team, to make sure our homes meet the highest standards for our customers. We’ll provide you with a company van, fuel card, tools and any PPE you’ll need for the role.
• Jobs are planned for you by our Work Planners so you can concentrate on carrying out repairs to a high standard, ensuring ‘right first time’ wherever possible.
• Work primarily in the Tees Valley area (Hartlepool, Stockton, Middlesbrough), with occasional travel beyond. You’ll have a fixed shift pattern of 8.30am to 4.30pm Monday to Thursday and 8.30am to 4pm on Fridays in summer. In the winter, these hours will be 8am to 4pm Monday to Thursday and 8.30am to 3.30pm on Fridays.
• Contribute to our ‘TradePlus’ scheme, acquiring diverse skills to enhance efficiency and customer satisfaction.

About You

• Experience as a Bricklayer, completing works to a high standard.
• Skilled in general semi-skilled works and eager to assist in various trades.
• Must have a valid UK driving licence.
• Comfortable using digital devices or be willing to learn. We use mobile and hand-held devices to allocate jobs and for you to record your completion of work.
• A commitment to safe working practices and a good grasp of health and safety regulations.
