Job summary

Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust in Wycombe is recruiting a Specialty Doctor in Breast Surgery to join the Bucks Breast Unit on a 12-month fixed-term basis starting January 2027. The appointee will participate in elective breast surgery, outpatient and inpatient care, and contribute to the weekly oncoplastic MDM.

The role offers the chance to develop competencies with supervision, within a multidisciplinary surgical team, and to engage in breast reconstruction pathways as skills grow.

Qualifications

• Full GMC registration with Licence to Practice in the UK.
• Ability to travel to multiple sites.
• Evidence of recent audit and engagement with clinical governance.
• Commitment to safe, compassionate care and continuous professional development.

Responsibilities

• Assist in elective breast surgery, outpatient clinics, inpatient cover and weekly multidisciplinary meetings (MDM).
• Operate within competencies with opportunity to participate in oncoplastic breast procedures and reconstructions.
• Manage a variable clinical commitment schedule including theatre, clinics and telephone follow-ups.
