If you are you are currently working as an experienced staff nurse with patients who have cancer we have a unique opportunity to join an established team of experienced Breast Care CNSs.
We are looking for a self motivated nurse, who is eager to learn and keen to develop the skills to work both autonomously and as part of a specialist multidisciplinary team.
This is ideally a full time post (although part time considered for the right candidate) for a 12 month fixed term contract. Secondments considered.

To provide a continuing supportive service within the unit and facilitate optimum health care for those who have, or fear they may have breast cancer. After a period of training and supervision the post holder will be responsible for the delivery ofsupportive care to women recalled from screening. Both in person in clinic, during the delivery of diagnostic tests and results and also offering further support by telephone.
The post holder will work alongside members of the multidisciplinary screening team.
St George’s University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust hosts SWLBSS, which is one of six breast screening services in London and serves a population of over 190,000 women, providing screening with mammography for women aged 50 to their 71st birthday every 3 years. SWLBSS invites over 70,000 women every year for breast screening and diagnoses over 400 cancers per year.
SWLBSS is co-located with the symptomatic breast service which together form the Breast Services Care Group based in The Rose Centre on Perimeter Road at St Georges University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
The service is made up of a supportive multidisciplinary team focused on delivering high quality breast cancer diagnostics. The CNS team provide individualised care, information and support for women who have or fear they may have breast cancer.

The post holder will undertake appropriate training with the necessary supervision, to provide specialist-nursing interventions; ensuring specific needs of individual women are addressed.
Provide telephone support for highly anxious women recalled from screening offering the appropriate information and psychological support.
