Job summary

The Old Course Hotel in St Andrews is seeking a Supervisor to join the Breakfast team. You will lead from the front, coach the team and help create a positive, inclusive workplace to deliver fast, friendly, reliable service to our guests.

This role is ideal for someone with recent supervisory experience in hospitality or a strong fine dining background who is ready to take the next step into a supervisory position. Permanent full-time hours are 40 per week with a salary of £30,197.35 plus tronc.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year experience in a supervisory role from front line teams within a similar environment.
• Operational knowledge of ordering and stock rotation.
• Good communication skills with a focus on great customer service.
• Good knowledge about food and safety laws and best practices.
• Ability to work under pressure whilst maintaining a positive attitude.
• Take pride in personal appearance and hygiene, great grooming.
• Self-motivated and able to use own initiative.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day operations, including opening/closing procedures.
• Ensure POS accuracy and cash handling procedures are followed.
• Assist the Manager with sales tracking, reporting, and cost control.
• Maintain exceptional cleanliness throughout the service.
• Ensure service rituals, grooming standards and guest interactions align with brand guidelines.
• Supervise team members during shifts, ensuring roles are clearly executed.
• Assist with onboarding and on-the-job coaching of new team members to ensure service standards are met.
