Job summary

Carmarthenshire County Council is seeking a reliable Breakfast Supervisor to oversee pupils on arrival and during service, with duties including serving refreshments and general dining room tasks. You will build positive relationships with adults and children, have good communication and teamwork, and be willing to learn.

DBS check will be required. The post is 3.75 hours per week, 45 minutes per day, Monday to Friday before 9am during term time (38 weeks) with an annualised pay scheme; hourly

Qualifications

• Ability to build relationships with adults and children based on mutual respect.
• Experience supervising children is advantageous but not essential.
• Knowledge of basic food safety is advantageous but not essential as full training will be provided.
• Good communication and people skills.
• Ability to work as part of a team.
• Positive attitude and willingness to learn new skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee pupils on arrival and during service.
• Assist with the serving of refreshments and general dining room duties.
• Clear and wipe down tables as part of dining room upkeep.
• Welsh language level: basic conversational Welsh; support available to reach Level 2.

Job description

We are looking for a reliable and dedicated Breakfast Supervisor to supervise pupils on arrival and during service. You may also be required to assist with the serving of refreshments and undertake general dining room duties to include clearing and wiping down of tables.

• Knowledge of basic food safety. This would be an advantage but is not essential as full training will be given.

• A positive attitude and the willingness to learn new skills., An Enhanced with Barred List Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check will be requested for this job. It is an offence to apply for the role if the applicant is barred from engaging in regulated activity relevant to children or adults at risk

Welsh language level - verbal Level 2 - You will need a basic level of conversational Welsh. Reasonable support can be provided on appointment to reach this level.

This post is for 3.75 hours per week / 45 minutes per day. Hourly rate is £13.45. Our working hours are Monday to Friday before 9am, term time only (38 weeks), ideal to fit around family commitments / the school day. We offer an 'annualised' pay scheme so that our staff who work term time receive pay over 52 weeks.
