The Derby Midland Hotel, Signature Collection By Best Western is seeking a skilled Breakfast Chef to lead the morning service and help guests start their day well. You will cook a range of breakfast items to a consistently high standard, present dishes attractively, and work with the kitchen team to maintain hygiene and order.

The role offers early shifts, on-site work, and opportunities to support junior staff.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Breakfast Chef or in a similar kitchen role.
• Ability to work early shifts and manage breakfast service.
• Commitment to producing well‑cooked, well‑presented food to a high standard.
• Works calmly and efficiently in a structured kitchen environment.
• Understands hygiene, cleanliness and organisation.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook a range of breakfast dishes, including eggs, bacon, sausages, toast, pastries and other breakfast items.
• Ensure all food is prepared and presented to a high standard, with care and attention to detail.
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene across all kitchen areas, equipment and workstations.
• Support the ordering and management of kitchen supplies and stock levels.
• Follow all food safety, hygiene and health & safety standards at all times.
• Work collaboratively with the kitchen team to support a smooth and efficient service.
• Keep work areas clean, organised and well maintained.
• Assist with the training and support of junior kitchen team members when required.

The Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Breakfast Chef to join our kitchen team and play a key role in creating a positive start to our guests’ day.

As our Breakfast Chef, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking breakfast dishes to a consistently high standard, ensuring food is presented attractively and served with care. Your work will help guests feel nourished, relaxed and ready for the day ahead.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook a range of breakfast dishes, including eggs, bacon, sausages, toast, pastries and other breakfast items
