Job summary

Homewood is hiring a Breakfast Chef to join a vibrant, inclusive team near Bath. This part-time role is 16 hours per week across Sundays and Mondays, with food prepared by our chefs while you’re on duty.

Qualifications

• Experience leading people in a busy kitchen environment.
• Ability to plan workloads and take responsibility for a department.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook breakfasts to a high standard.
• Get the kitchen ready for breakfast service.
• Cook everything from classics to special Homewood dishes.
• Present food beautifully and ensure on-time service.
• Keep your section clean and ready for service.
• Follow hygiene, allergen and safety procedures.
• Work with kitchen and front-of-house teams.
• Hand over to the next service.

As Breakfast Chef what you’ll be doing

• Preparing and cooking breakfasts to a consistently high standard
• Getting the kitchen ready for breakfast service
• Cooking everything from the classics to our Homewood breakfast dishes
• Making sure food is presented beautifully and leaves the kitchen on time
• Keeping your section clean, organised and ready for service
• Following food hygiene, allergen and health & safety procedures
• Working closely with the wider kitchen and front of house teams
• Helping with preparation and handover for the next service

What we’re looking for

You’ll have strong practical horticultural knowledge and experience looking after substantial gardens, grounds or an estate.

You’ll also be comfortable leading people, planning workloads and taking responsibility for your own department.

We’d particularly love to hear from you if you :

• Enjoys working in a busy kitchen
• Can stay organised when several breakfast orders land at once
• Takes pride in the food you send out
• Is reliable – particularly as this is a fixed Sunday and Monday role
• Works well as part of a team
• Brings a positive attitude to the kitchen
