Job summary

Homewood, a boutique hotel and spa near Bath, is seeking a Breakfast Chef who brings personality and passion to a fast-paced kitchen. You’ll work 5am–1pm, 40 hours across 5 days, cooking breakfast classics and signature dishes while ensuring beautiful presentation.

You’ll join a diverse, collaborative team committed to guest delight and a playful, welcoming atmosphere. Training and development are encouraged within Kaleidoscope Collection.

Qualifications

• Proven track record working in busy kitchen environments.
• Ability to lead a small team and coordinate breakfast service.
• Strong time management to handle multiple orders.
• Knowledge of food safety and allergen controls.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook breakfasts to high standards.
• Set up kitchen for breakfast service, 40-hour week, 5am–1pm, 5 days out of 7.
• Cook a range of dishes from classics to house specials.
• Present dishes attractively and ensure timely plating.
• Keep your station clean and organised for service.
• Follow hygiene, allergen and health & safety procedures.
• Collaborate with kitchen and front-of-house teams.
• Assist with prep and handover for subsequent services.

As Breakfast Chef what you’ll be doing

• Preparing and cooking breakfasts to a consistently high standard
  
• Getting the kitchen ready for breakfast service in full time - 40 hour per week role, working 5am to 1pm, 5 out of 7 days
• Cooking everything from the classics to our Homewood breakfast dishes
• Making sure food is presented beautifully and leaves the kitchen on time
• Keeping your section clean, organised and ready for service
• Following food hygiene, allergen and health & safety procedures
• Working closely with the wider kitchen and front of house teams
• Helping with preparation and handover for the next service

What we’re looking for

You’ll have strong practical horticultural knowledge and experience looking after substantial gardens, grounds or an estate.

You’ll also be comfortable leading people, planning workloads and taking responsibility for your own department.
